Dr Graeme Rowlands consults patients at the Norseman Hospital between Mondays and Thursday, but this may vary. Their clinic is currently located in the Norseman Hospital on Talbot Street. Appointments need to be made days in advance by phoning the Doctor Surgery on (08) 9039 9235

The Community Health Sister and various visiting Practitioners including a Dentist, Optometrist and Infant Health Sister regularly visit Norseman. Please call the Hospital on (08) 9039 1100 for further details.

Water

The town is supplied with water from the Mundaring Weir, Perth via the Eastern Goldfields Water Supply Scheme. The W.A. Water Authority have an office in Goodliffe Street, and any problems with the water supply should be directed to them. Account enquires should be made to the Regional Office in Kalgoorlie.

Electricity

The Western Power have a maintenance man in town, and any problems with the power supply should be directed to him. All account enquires should be made to the Regional office in Kalgoorlie.

Accounts for both Water and Electricity can be paid at the Post Office.

Service Stations

Motorists are well catered for with three outlets to choose from providing Lead Replacement, Unleaded, Premium Unleaded, Diesel and Auto Gas.

Shell service station is located in the town centre and opens every day, 7:30am to 6.00pm Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 3:00pm Saturday and 9:00am to 3:00pm Sunday.

The Caltex service station is located on the Northern end of Prinsep Street and the BP station is located on the corner of Coolgardie and Eyre Highways. Both are open 24 hours every day.

Mechanical Services

If your vehicle needs urgent attention there are two local Mechanical businesses in Norseman;

Wilson's Diesel & Auto Repairs is located at 69 Prinsep street on the main highway if you are heading to Esperance or Kalgoorlie.  They are also an Authorised Inspection Station for all of your vehicles licensing needs. Ph: 9039 1102.

Highway Tilt Towing  Mechanical and tyre services is located on the corner of Roberts and Allsop streets. Ph: 9039 1666

Banking and Postal Services

The ANZ bank provide a full facility bank in the town centre which also has an all card ATM and is open Monday to Friday 9:30am to 4:00pm with a lunch closure from 12:30pm to 1:30pm.

Dundas Post, located on the corner of Prinsep & Ramsay Streets, is a licensed Australia Post outlet which also provides Commonwealth Banking services and Giro Post. The daily mail service is provided, with sorting of incoming mail usually completed by 10am. Outgoing mail is closed off at 2.45pm.

Communications

Norseman's telephone system is serviced by Telstra in Esperance, and any problems should be directed to them. We are serviced by Telstra’s Mobilenet and CDMA, however coverage is restricted.

Radio Stations received are ABC FM, Regional ABC, Esperance 747 and Kalgoorlie 6KG. It is possible at night to pick up other stations.

Televisions Stations received are GWN, WIN and ABC. SBS transmission is available.

Education

Norseman District High School has excellent primary and secondary school facilities which are located on the corner of Goodliffe and Morgan Street.

Classes tend to be small allowing individual academic attention. There are a wide range of sporting activities.

Norseman Playgroup meet twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays and have different hours during summer and winter.

The centre is located in Prinsep Street next to Health Care Centre.  The Playgroup also operates the Toy Library.

The Norseman District Hospital is situated at the end of Talbot Street, Norseman.

Fire Brigade

Norseman has a local Volunteer Fire Brigade who are always looking for new members. The station is situated on Ramsey Street, and the running track is located at the Western end of the Town Oval.

The Norseman S.E.S have recently moved to their new co-located facility on Prinsep Street. This building is shared with St John Ambulance.
