Council Meetings

The Council meets on the third Tuesday of the month at 6:00pm in the Council Chambers located in the Administration Building 88-92 Prinsep Street Norseman WA 6443.

Items for inclusion in the agenda for the meetings will need to be received by the Shire of Dundas by the Monday of the week preceding the meeting.

Members of the public are invited and encouraged to attend Council Meetings.

Special Council Meetings, Audit Committee & Electors' Meetings

Annual General Meeting of Electors

The Annual General Meeting of Electors is the meeting required to be held once every financial year for the purpose of discussing the annual report and any other general business. The meeting gives electors of the Shire the opportunity to ask questions, make statements and move motions to be voted on by the electors of the Shire.

Special Council Meeting

When required, a special meeting of council may be called by the President or by at least one third of the councillors. The CEO will convene the special meeting and arrange public notice if the meeting is to be open to the public. A special meeting requires that:

• public notice be given specifying the purpose of the meeting
• it must only deal with the items of business as set out in the notice of the meeting.

If the local government decides that the meeting is open to the public, the CEO must provide public notice of the special meeting on the local government’s website as soon as practicable after the decision to hold the meeting has been made.

Audit & Risk Committee 

The Local Government Act 1995 (the Act) requires that all local governments establish an audit committee. An audit committee plays a key role in assisting a local government to fulfil its governance and oversight responsibilities in relation to financial reporting, internal control structure, risk management systems, legislative compliance, ethical accountability and the internal and external audit functions.

The committee shall meet at least quarterly. Additional meetings shall be convened at the discretion of the presiding person.

The July Ordinary Meeting of Council was held on Tuesday 23rd of July 2019 at 4:30pm in the Council Chambers, Prinsep Street, Norseman.

The August Ordinary Meeting of Council was held on the 24th of August 2019 at 8:15am WST in the Community Hall, Yurkla Way, Eucla.

The June Ordinary Meeting of Council was held on the 23rd June 2020 at 6:00pm in the Council Chambers, Prinsep Street, Norseman.

The January Ordinary Meeting of Council was held on Thursday 21th January 2021 at 6:00pm  in the Council Chambers, Prinsep Street, Norseman.

The February Ordinary Meeting of Council was held on Thursday 23rd February 2021 at 6:00pm  in the Council Chambers, Prinsep Street, Norseman.

The November Ordinary Meeting of Council was held on Tuesday 23rd November 2021 at 6.00pm in the Council Chambers, Prinsep Street, Norseman.

The January Ordinary Meeting of Council scheduled for Tuesday 17 January 2023 at 6.00pm in the Council Chambers, Prinsep Street, Norseman will not occur. 

The Ordinary Council Meeting scheduled for Saturday 27 May 2023 at 4:30pm in the Eucla Community Hall, Yurkla Drive, Eucla has been postponed for Saturday 10 June 2023 at 4:30pm (ACWST).

The Ordinary Council Meeting scheduled for Tuesday 24 October 2023 at 6:00pm in Norseman has been postponed for Thursday 26 October 2023 at 6:00pm (AWST).

The Ordinary Council Meeting scheduled for Saturday 21 September 2024 at 4:30pm (ACWST) in Eucla has been changed to Tuesday 24 September 2024 at 6:00pm (AWST) in Norseman.

The Ordinary Council Meeting scheduled for Tuesday 18 February 2025 at 6:00pm in Norseman has been postponed for Tuesday 25 February 2025 at 6:00pm (AWST).

The Ordinary Council Meeting scheduled for Tuesday 22 July 2025 at 6:00pm in Norseman has been changed to Tuesday 29 July 2025 at 6:00pm (AWST) in Norseman.
