The Shire of Dundas provides domestic waste collection and waste disposal services to support a clean, safe and healthy community.

Domestic & Commercial Refuse Collection

Domestic Rubbish Collection (Norseman Only)

Council provides a weekly domestic rubbish collection service within the Norseman townsite.

  • Collection day: Monday
    (or Tuesday when Monday falls on a public holiday)

  • Bins must be placed on the street verge, approximately 1 metre from the road

  • Bins must be out before 7.00am on collection day

Commercial Rubbish Collection

  • Collected twice weekly on Mondays and Fridays

Bin Supply

  • 240-litre mobile garbage bins are available for purchase from the Shire

Refuse Disposal Sites (Waste Facilities)

Norseman Waste Facility

The Norseman Refuse Disposal Site is located 4km south of Norseman via Dennison Drive.

Opening hours:

  • Monday to Friday: 8.30am – 4.30pm

  • Saturday, Sunday & Public Holidays: 9.00am – 4.00pm

Closed: Good Friday and Christmas Day

Eucla Waste Facility

The Eucla Refuse Disposal Site is located 4km north of Eucla via Commonwealth Road.

Waste Disposal Guidelines

Residents transporting their own rubbish to a waste facility are reminded to:

  • Ensure all loads are secure so items do not fall from vehicles

Permission is required from Council before placing materials such as sand, soil or metal on the street verge adjacent to a property. All materials must be fully removed:

  • At the completion of the job, or

  • At the expiry of the permitted time allowed

Failure to do so may result in further action by Council.

Sewerage & Effluent Disposal

Sewerage waste within the Shire is managed through septic tank systems.

  • Effluent removal must be carried out by local licensed operators
