 Senior Administration Officer

 The Shire of Dundas is seeking a highly organised and enthusiastic individual to join our team as the Senior Administration Officer.

Under the direction of the Deputy Chief Executive Officer, the successful applicant will be responsible for accounting and administration services, supervision of payroll, debtor and creditor services in addition to assuming responsibilities as the rates officer of the Shire.

 This full-time position is offered in accordance with level 5-6 of the Local Government Industry Award 2010, including a cash salary in the range of $70,000 to $80,000 depending on qualifications and experience, superannuation up to 14.5%, subsidised housing and utilities. Other benefits can be negotiated.

General conditions of employment

Conditions of employment are in accordance with the employment contract however there are several other benefits which Council provides to employees.

(i) Superannuation
Council contributes up to 5% (on matching basis) of employee’s salary towards the Local Government Superannuation Scheme, plus Occupational Superannuation as set by legislation (currently 9.5%).
Council has endorsed the principles of salary sacrificing superannuation, whereby Council will meet an employee’s superannuation contribution on their behalf with a corresponding reduction in cash salary.

(ii) Uniforms
The cost of purchasing corporate uniforms as approved by Council, be contributed by Council to the order of 50% of the total cost to a maximum of $300.00 per financial year.

(iii) Professional Development
Professional development is encouraged at the Shire of Dundas. All professional development is at the discretion of the CEO.
(iv) Medical, Police Clearance & Working with Children’s Checks
It will be a condition, that prior to employment the applicant will be required to undergo and pass a pre-employment medical, provide a satisfactory current Federal Police Clearance, and a ‘Working with Children’s Check (where necessary)

(v) Smoking Policy
Council provides a smoke free environment in all Council owned buildings and Council Vehicles.

(vi) Leave Entitlements
Annual Leave, personal leave and long service leave are paid in accordance with the Local Government Industry Award 2010.
